I have been pike fishing for over 40 years and every time I read this outstanding piece of literature I learn something new every time which has lead to me catching many, many,PIKE in double figures.
I have met the author who in my opinion is a first class angler any absolute gentleman, always willing to impart his knowledge and experiences of pike fishing to young and old alike improving their understanding of what is one of our finest freshwater fish, teaching fishermen and women to preserve this asset, which was for so many years was abused and misunderstood. This is without doubt one of the finest fishing book which has ever been written and I cherish my copy.

Buller's classic work was first read by me around thirty years back, or thereabouts, when I got the copy I still have. It's one I've gone back to many times both for the pleasure of reading its varied sections, and also for reference to have some point or other cleared up.

I suppose it's a little out of date nowadays, but so am I - so it fits me well. Reading it is nearly as good as going pike fishing. Find a copy. You won't regret it, although you might baulk a little at the price.

So far, I haven't found a copy of "Domesday" to go with "Pike", but I will! I was able to borrow a copy around twenty years ago, but its owner, for some reason, wanted it back again...

I'm an 12 year old girl that is making a project on this book for school. It is a very cool book. I didn't know how to spell Betty's full name so I came on the internet. What a good idea eh?

Visitors to the famous Pikes Peak region of Colorado must read this book before leaving this treasure trove of Mother Nature. The author writes as though she has walked every square mile of this vast region covering many different climate zones from high plains desert to the alpine summit of Pikes Peak rising over two miles high. This book covers the human history of the region rich in western exploration and ancient native american people. The flora and fauna treatment of the environment is written by an expert. This is a beautifully researched book for the traveler who wants to learn while still being a tourist.

This book gives detailed descriptions for ten tours covering the entire Pikes Peak region. Mileages are recorded from easy-to-find intersections and are accurate and easy to follow. However, the best features of this guidebook are the behind-the-scenes details of the historical figures, and the wonderful color pictures of the major animals and plants that may be encountered on each of the tours. The book is beautifully published, with color pictures or historical photographs on virtually every page. The tours themselves range from the top of Pikes Peak to the Air Force Academy to lesser known treasures like the Dinosaur Depot in Cañon City and the historic west side of Colorado Springs. Essential to visitors, this book will also inform and delight long-time residents who will discover new reasons to love this area.

As an experienced business-process-redesign consultant, I found this book extremely helpful as it outlines best-practice techniques in a useful format replete with interesting examples. First-time process designers will be able to learn in one focused book what would otherwise take several texts to learn. Professors hoping to bridge the gap between academic theories and business realities ought to consider teaching from Rethink. Rethink, Retool, Results is a useful book that gets people excited when I show it to them.

Great book. This book is a must read for anyone involved in rethinking the way their business is running, no matter how old and engrained the current processes are. Rethink, Retool, Results is a great book to help in your quest for improvement.

Solving problems of the type presented in this book is a great way to improve your game. This book helps enormously with (a) categorized problems according to game stage (opening, middle, end game) and (b) problems shown in order of difficulty. The problems are excellent, challenging, and fun to solve. Highly recommended as an adjunct to study with other books such as Pask and Reinfeld.

My only criticism is small: The fold-out checker board at the end, an obvious but silly marketing gimmick, isn't even square!

Honestly, I have no time for activities/events when I train or facilitate meetings that accomplish only one goal. So I look for things that simultaneously meet multiple needs, or desires. This book contains 61 such tools.

Pike and Solem write clear, concise directions for each opener or energizer. With very little effort, each can be adapted to different needs by changing questions. (Instead of asking "What is your favourite hobby," for example, you can ask "What skill do you most use on the job?") In the opening pages, they provide a matrix so you can identify at a glance whether an activity is most useful as an Icebreaker, Networker, Team Builder, Task Tension Reducer, Relationship Tension Reducer, Personal Tension Reducer, or Focussing Activity. Better yet, each of the 61 activities falls into a minimum of three of these categories--accomplishing multiple goals for me in my meetings and trainings. The nine-page introduction offers hints and tips from Pike & Solems' years of experience. The combination of the matrix and the introduction are incredible added value.

I have been consistently pleased with the results I get from these activities. The four-quadrant name-tent, dreams and nightmares, group milling, and uniqueness and commonalities are consistently useful for me. I have no hesitation in recommending this book to trainers and meeting facilitators.

I teach fourth grade and I use this book every year. The projects included in this book make every child want to publish. I highly recommend this book.

This box set shows Pike at his finest. "Gimme a Kiss" is a wonderful story of suspense & betrayal. The main character is Jane Retton, who the reader develops a love-hate relationship with due to her clever yet fallible plan, which is the basis for this story. The other 3 books in this box set are the "Final Friends Trilogy", which Pike did a lovely job with. The stories follow a group of teens beginning their senior year in high school. The death of one of these people at the end of "The Party" begins the mystery that is not truly solved until the end of "The Graduation." There are enough plot twists to keep anyone guessing, & Pike has a unique gift in his rich character development, which is lacking in so many other young adult novels. I would definitely recommend this set (or any of these novels) to any suspense fan.
